Course Content
The diploma course will build up a solid foundation for the students in the teaching of the theory and practice of every aspect of the golf game including Performance Assessment, Scoring Evaluation,Short Game, Swing Mechanics, Development Research, Etiquette and Rules, Technology and Design.The course emphasize is on the learning how to coach students. Students will be taught under supervision how to coach players from beginner levels up to Tournament player level. Much of their
work will involve coaching players on how to improve their course management and teaching the rules and etiquette of golf. Students should continue to play at a playing level of a maximum handicap of 5.
Placement and Assessment
The placement Diploma in Golf Coaching NZQA Level 5 will need students who have completed the courses of the Certificate in Tournament Golf - Advanced NZQA Level 4 and who have played 36 holes to a handicap of a maximum of 9 or under and have a good knowledge of English to enable communications.Students will be assessed on their ability to communicate with students they are coaching, how well those students are progressing in their individual courses and on feedback from these students and
also from the professional teaching coaches. The external assessment for this course will be the students New Zealand Golf Handicap Index being maintained for this course to a maximum of 5 at the conclusion.

The external assessment for this course will be the improvement in the students New Zealand Golf Handicap Index from the commencement of this course to a maximum of 0 or less at the conclusion.Much of their tournament experience will come from playing top amateur competitions

Course Content
The initial part of this course works on playing the golf balls with 2/3 swings on slopes: up-slopes and down-slopes, left to right slope , right to left slop. This course extends students to consider bounce back theory /practical and to concentrate their skills on composure and minimizing potential mistakes. The second part of this course works on the full swing (3/3 swing) with emphasis on driver accuracy, distance and club selections. This advanced level 4 course looks at playing in all types of weather
conditions –headwinds, tailwinds, left to right winds, right to left wind and what type of shots to play, i.e.low knock down or high draw to improve their playing handicap to a maximum of 9.

The placement in Certificate of Tournament Golf Development – Advanced NZQA level 4 will need students who have played 36 holes to a handicap of a maximum of 18 and have a basic knowledge of English to enable communication. The external assessment for this course will be the improvement in the students New Zealand Golf Handicap Index from the commencement of this course to a maximum of 9 at the conclusion.
Career
The certificate in tournament & Golf Development NZQA level 3 Elementary aims to develop the fundamental skills and knowledge of the students to understand golfs basic principles. It forms apreparation for further study towards either the Diploma in Golf Coaching or in the Diploma in Tournament Golf.

Course Content
This first part of this course aims to get the students into the correct grip, stance and postures, targeting theory and practical, directional assessment. It covers the subject areas of the straight game,left to right, right to left game practical. Video analysis is used extensively to ensure that students learn to correct their faults and complete self analysis. The second part of the course works on the straight game theory and the 1/3 swing for chipping and up to 1/3 swing for putting. The main concentration is on the correct pace and break estimation for putting and sand saving and a chipping evaluation theory and practical to improve their playing handicap to a maximum of 18.

The placement in Certificate in Tournament Golf NZQA level 3 will need students who have played 36 holes to a maximum handicap of 39 and who have a basic knowledge of English to enable communication. The external assessment for this course will be the improvement in the students New Zealand Golf Handicap Index from the commencement of this course to a maximum of 18 at the conclusion.

This course contents are built around student based learning on a golf practice range and a golfcourse with top class teaching professionals, it covers the subjects’ areas of Swing mechanics, shortgame, on course development research, performance assessment and scoring evaluation enablingthe students to make substantial improvements in every aspect of their game. The course is approximately 25% theory and 75% practical and is generally a course involving motor skills ratherthan cognitive learning.
Placement and Assessment
The placement in certificate of Golf Development NZQA level 2 will need students in good physicalcondition and who have a basic knowledge of English to enable communication. The assessment will be the improvement in the students New Zealand Golf Handicap from commencement until the end of the course
