Pathway to bachelor’s degree Program from Diploma level

Target Future Students Specially designed the bridging course for the future students who have the intention to upgrade to the bachelor degree level, to help students successfully enter the undergraduate programs of the chosen majors .

Future students: The diploma level students who have the intention to upgrade to Bachelor Degree level .

Learning objective: Through intensive English + professional courses, to help students quickly and smoothly enter the undergraduate university.

The content of Study: Intensive English courses + specialized courses of Sports , Leisure & exercises  (Multi Sectors ) majoring in Golf .

Duration of study: 6 to 12 months

Junior Golf Talent Program

Future Students:  The primary or secondary school students aged 7 to 18, who have the intention to develop their golf skills and help them gain points for entering prestigious schools or universities in the future.

The Program Introduction: The Junior Golf Talent Program is jointly run by IGQ Golf College , Burnside High School, and Middleton Grange in Christchurch , New Zealand . It is to meet the needs of students who have an interest in golf and want to cultivate their golf skills, while not affecting their normal academic studies, while developing golf techniques well. Cultivate hobbies and talents while adding extra points for their future study, and at the same time working towards the goal of becoming the professional golf athletes.

The content of the program: The future students attend the class of of Burnside High school or Middleton Grange School from Monday to Friday Primary and secondary schools have normal classes from Monday to Friday, They will study with IGQ PGA professionals after school each day from Monday to Friday, and weekends time as well . (IGQ staff is responsible for pick-up and drop-off of the students.)

Learning outcome: The students can simultaneously obtain a high school graduation certificates, which give them the qualifications to continue studying at various universities in New Zealand and other countries around the world; Simultaneously they can obtaining the New Zealand National Diploma in Leisure Sports (Golf Direction) (NZQA LEVEL5)if they completed the required courses regulated by the programs , they also get the chance to become a professional athlete /coach if they work on the PGA pathway , which is a win-win course.

New Zealand Professional Golf Coach Certification Course (NZPGA Traineeship Program)

Target Participants

Golf enthusiasts aspiring to become professional golf coaches with a golf handicap ranging from 4 to 18.

 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the traineeship program , learners will reach international professional coaching standards and meet all assessment criteria and requirements for New Zealand professional coaches. Participants will be awarded the Professional Golf Coach Certificate issued by the New Zealand Professional Golfers' Association, becoming the NZPGA full member.


Entry Requirements & Study Duration

1. PGA Certification Course (NZPGA Traineeship Program)

ü Aged 18 or above, passionate about golf and determined to become a PGA professional coach

ü Handicap requirement: 4.0 or below for males, 5.0 or below for females

ü Basic English proficiency required

ü Local residents or enrolled students of IGQ International Golf College with student visa

Study Duration: 3 years

 

2. PGA Foundation Preparatory Course

ü Aged 15 or above with a passion for golf

ü Possess basic golf skills with a handicap of 18 or below

ü Basic English proficiency required

ü Local residents or enrolled students of IGQ Golf College with student visa

Study Duration: 4 to 5 years

 

Tuition Fees

International Students: NZD 38,500 per year (excluding accommodation, meals and PGA qualification examination fees)

Local Students: NZD 16,800 per year (excluding accommodation, meals and PGA qualification examination fees)

Tailored for learners with diverse foundational levels, the course is divided into the formal PGA Certification Course and the PGA Foundation Preparatory Course. Adopting a master-apprentice training model, the curriculum covers golf technical skills, physical fitness training, sports psychology and match tactics, combined with PGA tournament practice and on-site vocational internships, empowering learners to fulfill their dream of becoming professional golf coaches.

Students are accessible to internships during their academic studies. Graduates are qualified for employment across the global golf industry or further pursue bachelor’s degree programmes for higher academic development.

Length of study: The length of study can vary from person to person, or you can manage the length of study according to your own pace or self-paced length of study, so the length of study is usually 6-12 months or 24 months or longer.

Learning objective: To customize a learning and training plan, and through targeted teaching and intensive training, to enable students to achieve the target of lowering a number of strokes within a limited time and achieve their desire to break a certain number of strokes and lower their handicap.

Course Content: Conduct the targeted teaching and intensive training according to the players' playing ability test data. Such as: approaching shot skills, driving distance, short game and putting skills, special ball positions playing skills, difficult shots, etc. Focus on training and practice, and regularly evaluate and adjust strategies.

Length of Study:  It can be various from 1 month to 6 months according to one’s own playing ability and target values.

Golf practical training course for university students

Target StudentsThe university students majoring in leisure sports , social sports or the outdoor sports education

Course Content: This course is designed for students majoring in leisure sports or social sports, providing students with overseas practical internship and training courses (English + golf + outdoor development + teaching practice), so that students can improve their golf skills, improve their English level, experience different education and culture, broaden their international vision, and experience the life of studying abroad through short-term study and training overseas. The performance of overseas practical training and internship can be converted into credits in their own university program.

Learning Objectives: Through the internship and practical training, improve the ball striking skills, improve English communication ability, learn about different education modes through internship, and increase overseas study experience to enhance competitiveness for the future employment.

Training Curriculum:  To customize training plans for students according to their aptitude, arrange internship opportunities. Such as: Approaching shot skills, driving distance, short game and putting technology, special ball positions handling, difficult shots, etc. Focus on training and practical playing ability, skills evaluation seminar.  The students will be arranged to do the internship by teaching Traditional Chinese sports programs to in local schools.

Completion Certificates: Certificate of completion and handicap certificate as well as transcripts of internship training will be issued.

Target Teachers and Coaches: Well-educated leisure sports and golf coaches, lacking the opportunity to play golf in the courses , intentionally take the  advantages of the golf course training facilities of the program provider to go overseas for visiting and further study and improve their playing ability in the golf courses.

Target teachers and golf coaches: leisure sports teachers and golf coaches who have the intention to study overseas and improve their practical playing ability in the course.

Learning objectives: Customize the studying plan, achieve the target value within a limited time, and improve the ball striking skills; At the same time, communications with foreign teachers to understand different education models,

Course Content: Targeted teaching and intensive training according to the visiting objectives. Such as: approaching shot playing skills, driving distance, short game and putting skills improvement, special ball position handling , difficult ball playing method and other key training and practice. Seminars are held regularly. Teachers from both sides exchanged and discussed the problems of teaching and learning.

Length of studying: The length of study can be various, which depends on the needs of the teachers and coaches , can be 1- 6 months .
